It is the purpose of the Willimantic Victorian Neighborhood Association to educate and assist the community in the preservation and promotion of the Victorian history, architecture, and character of Willimantic.
The Prospect Hill Historic District, commonly referred to as “The Hill Section” of Willimantic, boasting more than 800 vintage homes and buildings, has been listed by the U.S. Department of the Interior on the National Register of Historic Places. In addition to the historic homes, there are schools, churches and a firehouse which contribute to the character of the community. According to representatives from the State Historical Commission, the 40 block area constitutes one of the largest historic districts in the state.
The Association is funded by member fees and sales of tickets to events.
